Override, do not edit
When a single day needs to differ from the norm, override it rather than editing your regular gate schedule. Editing the regular schedule to cover one holiday means editing it back afterward, and forgetting that second step is how a gate ends up on the wrong schedule for weeks. An override is self-contained: it changes the one day and leaves everything else alone.
1) Find the Override function
Sign in to the TrueCloud Connect platform and, on the gate you want to change, find Override under Actions, to the far right of the Trigger Gate button. This is the same corner of the dashboard where the regular schedule lives, so the two sit side by side.
2) Add the override: hold-open or blackout
Open Alternative Schedules and Blackouts and select Add to create a new override, then choose what the day should do:
- A hold-open override forces the gate open for the day, for an event or an open house on a day it would normally be closed.
- A blackout override does the opposite: it cancels a normal hold-open so the gate stays closed on a day it would otherwise stand open, such as a holiday when the office is shut.
Set the day and save. The override applies to that day only; the day after, the gate is back on its regular schedule with nothing to undo.
