What a QR Code Visitor Pass is
A QR Code Visitor Pass is a barcode that administrators and residents send to visitors by text or email, granting access to specific entry points that use CellGate products. It is a more secure and convenient way to manage visitor entry, and simple for visitors to use. Administrators can assign pass permissions to a group and set rules so access points and times are strictly managed. There are three types.
Recurring: one visitor, ongoing access
A recurring pass is a QR code for one visitor who needs repeat access, created with or without restrictions. It is shared with only one person and bounded by the restrictions the resident sets. Its code changes once used, so a screenshot cannot be reused by anyone else. Ideal for someone who comes on a regular day or time: a dog walker, a regular babysitter, landscaping, trash valet, or a pool cleaner.
Temporary: a group, a set window
A temporary pass is a QR or PIN code for multiple visitors needing access for a set window. A QR temporary pass can be set for up to 24 hours; a PIN temporary pass can be set for up to 7 days. It has a start date and time and a time limit. Perfect for a one-time occasion that will not repeat: a party, an event, a cookout, or movers.
Single-Use: one entry, then done
A single-use pass is a QR or PIN code generated for one use only. After it is scanned, it opens the gate or door once and then never works again. Great for a delivery driver, movers, or anyone who needs access to the property a single time. For the recipient’s side and PIN variants, see Access Credentials.
