Managing visitor access has never been easier with the CellGate app. This guide will walk you through using PIN codes to provide secure access to your property.

What is a PIN Code?

A PIN code is a virtual key that can be sent via SMS or email to visitors. Users can create these codes for specific events or multiple purposes, ensuring controlled access.

Creating PIN Codes

  1. Administrator Setup: Only administrators can assign PIN code permissions and create PIN code rules. Ensure virtual keys are enabled in your account and group settings.
  2. Access the App: Launch the CellGate app, navigate to the menu icon in the top left corner, and select “Virtual Keys.”
  3. Create a Key: Click the plus icon, select “PIN Code Temporary Event Key,” enter the key name, and set the start and end times (up to 24 hours). Choose the gates where the PIN code will be valid and save the settings.
  4. Share the Key: You can share the PIN code via SMS or email. For SMS, enter the recipient’s 10-digit phone number. For email, ensure it’s a valid email address. The recipient will receive the PIN code to use at the keypad.

Using PIN Codes

  1. Recipient Access: The visitor can enter the PIN code at the keypad for access. Simply tap “Access Codes” and type in the PIN.
  2. Monitoring Access: The CellGate app logs all access attempts, providing a clear record of who accessed your property and when.

Benefits of PIN Codes

PIN codes offer a flexible and secure way to manage access for various situations, whether it’s for a single visitor, a temporary event, or a one-time entry. This system ensures that you maintain control over your property’s security at all times.
