Who this is for. Installers and dealers mounting a CellGate Infinity reader. Follow the printed Infinity Installation Guide alongside this video for the exact measurements and torque specs.
What this video covers
1) Prepare the wall box
Take the wall-mounting box to the install location and mark its four holes. Drill them with a 6 mm bit. The Infinity is double-gang mounted, so the box is what carries the reader; getting it square and solid here is what makes the rest of the install clean.
2) Route the wiring
Bring the power and data wiring, including the wired internet connector where used, through the hole in the box. The Infinity supports standard 26-bit Wiegand, so the reader wires to the controller over Wiegand at the entry point. If the reader is going outdoors, route the cable so it enters a weatherproof enclosure cleanly and the seal is maintained; a reader is only as reliable as the moisture protection at its wiring.
3) Seat the unit
Hang the slot on the main unit onto the corresponding hooks on the box, then gently lower the unit down onto the hook at the back and the hooks projecting from the bottom. Let it settle into place rather than forcing it; the hooks are what align it before the screws hold it.
4) Secure and close up
Fix the two M3x6 Torx head screws into their holes to lock the reader to the box. That completes the physical installation. Power it up and confirm it reads a credential; if it does not operate as expected, contact CellGate technical support rather than forcing anything, since intentional or improper-install damage is not covered.
With the reader mounted, the next step is configuration. See managing readers in the portal to set the reader type and turn on its access methods, and the four ways to enter guide for how residents will actually use it.
