Creating a PIN Single-Use Visitor Pass: One-Time Code Access

Apr 20, 2026  |  Support Resource, CellGate App

A PIN Single-Use Visitor Pass is a numeric code for one-time access, ideal for a delivery driver who would rather type a code than scan. You name it, set when it starts, and pick the gates.

Open the Visitor Passes screen

  1. Open the CellGate app and tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
  2. Select Access Credentials, then Visitor Passes.
  3. Make sure you are on the PIN Code Visitor Pass tab, not the QR Code tab. This is the step people miss: the pass type you create depends on which tab you are on.
  4. Tap Create Visitor Pass at the bottom of the screen.

1) Name it and set when it begins

  1. Choose PIN Single-Use Visitor Pass.
  2. Name the pass. This is what the guest will see, so use their name or purpose.
  3. Select when the pass will begin working. A single-use pass has a limit of 24 hours.
  4. Press Save.

2) Choose the gates

Select which gate or gates the PIN code will work at, then click OK. Grant only the entrances the guest needs.

3) Save and share

Click Save at the bottom of the screen. You can then choose to share the pass now or later, by text or email. For every pass you have issued, see finding your Visitor Passes.
