What is Watchman?
Watchman is CellGate’s live video telephone entry product family that lets you see visitors and grant access to your
property directly from your smartphone. Whether you manage a multi-family community, run a business, or secure a
single-family home, Watchman acts like a virtual security guard – helping combine security with convenience.
Watchman is built on three connected components
1) Watchman hardware
Choose from models with a backlit keypad and a single call group, ideal for single-family and many commercial properties, or touchscreen models with resident directories plus QR or PIN codes for visitor management, ideal for multi-family properties.
All Watchman models include an internal HD camera for live video and photo capture of access attempts. For expanded visibility, you can add up to three external cameras for additional views of visitors and vehicles. Optional CG Readers – such as the Infinity Reader or Halo Reader – can expand visitor and resident access options at the gate.
2) TrueCloud Connect
TrueCloud Connect is the cloud-based platform that manages Watchman hardware, data transport, and credential user management. It’s where administrators add Watchman users, customize settings, and view access activity. All CellGate products across all properties are managed here via a single login, allowing administrators to issue or revoke access from anywhere, on demand.
3) The CellGate app
With the CellGate app, authorized users can get live video of visitors, open and close gates, view photo history, and issue QR or PIN codes – depending on the permissions granted.
